Kadaň Castle is a historic royal castle overlooking the Ohře River in the town of Kadaň, northern Czechia.

Built around the mid-13th century as a Gothic fortress, it served as an important administrative and defensive center of the Bohemian Kingdom and was the residence of the royal burgrave who governed the surrounding region. The castle played a significant role in medieval history and was visited by Czech kings, including Wenceslaus II.

It suffered damage during conflicts in the 15th century and again during the Thirty Years’ War, after which it was rebuilt and later adapted for military use under Empress Maria Theresa. Today, the castle is a protected cultural monument owned by the town of Kadaň. It houses cultural and community facilities, including a museum, gallery, library, and exhibition spaces, making it one of the town’s most important historical landmarks.
