Kalanggaman Island is an uninhabited tropical gem off Palompon in Leyte, Philippines, celebrated for its iconic long white sandbar that stretches dramatically into turquoise waters, creating a bird-like shape from the Visayan word "langgam."

Measuring about 750 meters long with pristine beaches, coral reefs teeming with marine life, and spots for snorkeling, diving, kayaking, and camping, it serves as a protected sanctuary for sea turtles and manta rays while limiting visitors to 500 daily to preserve its serenity.

Best reached by a one-hour boat from Palompon after registering at the local ecotourism office, the island shines brightest in the dry season from March to May. This aerial perspective captures the island's mesmerizing sandbar curving into the sea.
