Kåseholms Slott
Sweden, Sweden
Kåseholms Slott, located in the scenic Österlen region of Skåne, southern Sweden, was built in 1650 by Danish nobleman Johan Urne as a single-story stone house, later expanded by the Thott family with additional floors and an 18th-century mansard roof in neoclassical style.
The U-shaped manor evolved through turbulent Dano-Swedish wars, including a legend of buried treasure by former owner Admiral Enevold Fredrik Akeleye, and now blends preserved historical elements like its arched cellar with modern renovations incorporating global design influences from South Africa, Europe, and Asia.
Today the privately owned estate functions as a luxury creative hub and event venue with 23 rooms, multiple barns for gatherings, a studio kitchen, and surrounding parklands featuring Sweden's oldest chestnut tree planted in 1632.
