Kebun Raya Purwodadi is a large 85‑hectare dry‑climate botanical garden in Purwodadi, Pasuruan, East Java, Indonesia, founded on 30 January 1941 and located on the slopes of Mount Arjuna along the main road between Malang and Surabaya at about 300 meters elevation.
It is one of Indonesia’s four official botanical gardens under the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), specializing in lowland dry‑climate plants, and holds over 1,000 plant species (around 3,600 numbered specimens) from 123 families and 881 genera, including major collections of orchids, palms (about 80 kinds), ferns, bamboos, bananas, legumes, mangos, medicinal plants, and a Mexican section with many cacti.
The garden is beautifully landscaped with themed areas such as the Bougainvillea Garden (Taman Bougenville) and a greenhouse for delicate plants, and it serves for research, agricultural observation, education, and family tourism with facilities including a children’s swimming area, rest areas, camping grounds, and outdoor adventure activities.
