Killincarrig Castle
Greystones, County Wicklow, Ireland, Ireland
Killincarrig Castle is a historic fortified manor house located in the village of Killincarrig, between Greystones and Delgany in County Wicklow, Ireland. Built in the early 16th or early 17th century by the influential Walsh family of Carrickmines, it was once considered one of the finest buildings in the area. Although commonly called a castle, the structure is actually a large Jacobean-style fortified house. Historical records describe it as a substantial three-storey building with turrets, and local tradition holds that Oliver Cromwell may have stayed there during his campaign in Ireland. Today, Killincarrig Castle survives as an ivy-covered ruin surrounded by modern housing.
