Kitino Fort, also known as Kitino Kale, is an ancient fortress overlooking the town of Kičevo in western North Macedonia, with origins tracing back to the Bronze and Iron Ages and later fortifications from Roman, Byzantine, and medieval periods. Positioned on a high hill, it once featured multiple walls, towers, and possibly a palace linked to folklore about Princess Kita, sister of King Marko, serving as a key military and administrative center under rulers like Tsar Samuel, Stefan Uroš II, and Serbian King Milutin before Ottoman conquest around 1385. Today, its ruins form an archaeological site and landscaped park popular for recreation, with artifacts like coins from Alexander the Great's era discovered there.
