Koberg Slott
Koberg, Sweden, Sweden
Koberg Slott, situated near Lake Vanderydsvattnet about 10 km south of Trollhättan in Västergötland, Sweden, traces its origins to the 15th century when first owned by knight Erik Nipertz.
The current three-story stone building, flanked by two solid domed round towers, evolved through ownership by royal families like Vasa and Leijonhufvud, with the oldest eastern part dating to the mid-1400s, middle section from the 1620s, and western addition from the late 1700s.
Restored in Neo-Renaissance style during the 1890s by architect Fredrik Lilljekvist, plus Neo-Romantic estate buildings from 1900-1904, it now serves as the private residence of Princess Désirée, Baroness Silfverschiöld, and her husband Baron Nicklas Silfverschiöld.
