The Kolomensky Kremlin in Kolomna, Russia, is a well-preserved 16th-century fortress built between 1525 and 1531 under Tsar Vasily III to defend Moscow's southern approaches, modeled after the Moscow Kremlin with Italian architectural influences like machicolations and faceted towers.

Originally featuring 17 towers, three gates, and nearly 2 km of high brick walls up to 21 meters tall and 4.5 meters thick, only six towers and the Pyatnitsky Gate remain today, enclosing historic sites such as the 17th-century five-domed Dormition Cathedral, Tikhvinsky Cathedral in pseudo-Russian style, and monasteries like Novo-Golutvin.

It withstood Tatar raids and played key roles in Russian history before partial decay, now serving as a major cultural landmark with museums and ongoing preservation efforts.
