Komořany is a former village that is now a district of Prague 12, located on the southern edge of the city near the Vltava River.

First mentioned in historical records in 1088, it has a long history connected to the Vyšehrad Chapter, the Zbraslav Monastery, and several noble landowners. For centuries, Komořany remained a small rural settlement centered around farms, an estate, and a château. During the 19th and 20th centuries, industrial development and growing residential areas gradually transformed the community.

Komořany became part of Prague in 1968 and today combines residential neighborhoods, green spaces, and traces of its historical past. Notable landmarks include Komořany Castle and the surrounding natural areas along the Vltava, which give the district a quieter, more suburban character than central Prague.
