Krapperups Castle
Möllehässle, Sweden, Sweden
Krapperups Castle, located near Möllehässle in Höganäs Municipality on the Kullen Peninsula in Skåne, Sweden, originated as a 14th-century fortified stone manor built around 1314-1353 by Danish knight Jens Jensen.
The current Renaissance-style main building rose in the mid-16th century under Mourids Clausen Podebusk of the powerful Krognos family, later transitioning to Swedish ownership in 1667 when Countess Maria Sofia De la Gardie acquired it and oversaw Baroque renovations.
Expanded in the 18th century by owners like Henrik Jakob Hildebrand and the von Kochen brothers with Rococo interiors, the moated estate features a park, chapel, and cultural programs through the Gyllenstiernska Krapperup Foundation since 1967, blending Danish-Swedish heritage amid scenic coastal landscapes.
