Kronovall Mansion Gardens
Sweden, Sweden
Kronovall Mansion Gardens form part of Kronovall Castle, a French Baroque-style estate built around 1760 in Tomelilla Municipality, Skåne, southern Sweden, making it Sweden's only castle of this architectural type.
Acquired by nobleman Gustaf Persson Banér in 1668 after earlier uncertain origins, the two-story main building on an islet surrounded by a moat features a unique 18th-century Baroque garden with mythological yew trees, boxwood hedges, and scenic landscapes designed for aristocratic leisure.
Rebuilt in 1896 by Count Carl Gustaf Sparre under architect Isak Isaksson to its current appearance, the gardens today complement the castle's role as Kronovalls Vinslott, offering wine tastings, dining, accommodations, and events amid preserved historical surroundings.
