The Kumayl bin Ziyad Shrine, situated between Najaf and Kufa in Iraq near the Al-Hannanah Mosque, commemorates Kumayl ibn Ziyad al-Nakha'i, a devoted companion of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib known for his piety, humility, and transmission of the famous Du'a Kumayl supplication.

Killed around 708 AD on orders from Umayyad governor Al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf during a revolt against Umayyad rule, his body was buried at this site, which became a focal point for Shi'a pilgrims honoring his role in early Islamic history, including governance of Hit under Ali and participation in battles like Siffin. 

First constructed in 1950 by Sheikh Ali al-Baghdadi of the Imam Ali Shrine, the modern mausoleum features a single dome clad in Qashani tiles inscribed with the Twelve Imams' names, Italian alabaster interiors, and graves of other Ali companions, with expansions in the 1970s, 2000, 2007, and 2009 enhancing its courtyard and drainage.
