Laguna e Vilunit, also known as the Lagoon of Velipojë, is a lagoon of the Adriatic Sea on Albania’s northern coast, located in Shkodër County near the mouth of the Buna River.
It formed historically as a seaward inlet that gradually became an estuarine lagoon connected to the sea through a channel from the Buna, and it now lies within the Buna River–Velipojë Protected Landscape.
The lagoon is recognized as an Important Bird Area of international importance for wetland birds, supporting a variety of migratory and resident species, and it offers scenic views of water, reed beds, and surrounding coastal plains rather than being a typical tourist beach destination.
