Lanšperk Castle, located near Dolní Dobrouč in the Czech Republic, was founded in the mid-13th century during the colonization efforts led by King Ottokar II.
The first written record of the castle dates to 1285 when it was donated by King Wenceslaus II to Záviš of Falkenstein. The estate later passed to various noble families, including the Kostka of Postupice and Pernštejn families, and eventually to the Liechtenstein family, who owned it until the 1920s.
The castle was abandoned around the end of the 16th century and today exists as a ruin with parts of the cellars and walls still visible. The site offers picturesque views over the surrounding valley and is accessible to the public, making it a notable historical and cultural landmark in the region.
