First documented as Ivierna in the late 12th century and later known as Las Ibiernas, this rural village of around 60 residents features traditional stone houses, encina oak woodlands, and cultivated vegas amid a continental Mediterranean climate prone to intermittent fevers historically.

Its heritage includes 16th-17th century disputes over communal forest rights with nearby towns like Alaminos and Masegoso de Tajuña, a modest parish church, and annual San Acacio fiestas on June 21, preserving a quiet agrarian lifestyle tied to La Alcarria's pastoral past.
