Levín is a small town in Czechia located in the Central Bohemian Uplands, first mentioned in records from 1352.

It grew into a market town around the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries under the rule of Václav of Vartenberk and was known for its pottery production, sustained until the early 20th century when the supply of quality clay diminished. A nearby castle ruin, Levín Castle, dates back to the 13th or early 14th century and sits on a rocky hill above the town.

The castle was likely founded by a member of the Načeratice family and later became part of the Kumburk estate. The site features remnants of walls, ditches, and a high rampart, reflecting its original defensive purpose. The castle fell into disuse and deterioration, probably during the Hussite wars in the early 15th century. Levín itself is surrounded by scenic natural areas and bears historical significance through its medieval heritage and craft traditions.​
