Linköping's Castle- and Cathedral Museum, housed within the historic Linköping Castle adjacent to the city's Gothic cathedral, explores 900 years of medieval history from the mid-1100s through the Renaissance.

The castle, Sweden's oldest inhabited secular building dating to the 12th century, originated as a bishop's palace including the intact 13th-century Bishop Bengt’s Tower, later transformed by King Gustav Vasa into a royal residence and governor's seat. 

Exhibits feature cathedral treasures like 14th-century silverware and textiles by Vadstena's Birgittine sisters, digital displays on events such as the 1598 Battle of Stångebro and 1600 Bloodbath of Linköping, plus guided tours of medieval gardens for an immersive family experience.
