Mamaia is a popular seaside resort on the Black Sea coast in Constanța County, eastern Romania, nestled on a narrow eight‑kilometer‑long strip of land between the sea and Lake Siutghiol, just north‑east of the city of Constanța.

It is considered Romania’s main beach resort, known for its wide sandy beaches, shallow, calm waters, and a lively summer atmosphere packed with hotels, beach clubs, restaurants, and nightlife. The area is almost empty in winter but becomes densely populated in the summer months, when temperatures typically hover between 25 and 30°C and the water stays warm into early autumn.

Mamaia is easily reached from Constanța by road, bus, or a short gondola‑cable‑lift link, and attracted over 900,000 visitors in 2011, underlining its role as the country’s top seaside destination.
