Mendoza is a province in western Argentina, nestled at the foothills of the Andes Mountains and famous worldwide as the heart of Argentina’s wine industry, producing about 70% of the country’s wine—especially renowned Malbec.

The provincial capital, also called Mendoza, is a lively city situated 2,497 feet above sea level in an irrigated valley, known for its five central plazas, peaceful parks, and作为 a base for exploring nearby wineries in towns like Maipú, Luján de Cuyo, and Godoy Cruz.

The province is home to Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Americas at 22,831 feet, attracting mountaineers, while its dry continental climate and stunning scenery also support adventure activities like skiing, white-water rafting, paragliding, and thermal spring visits at Villavicencio and Potrerillos.

Beyond wine, Mendoza produces fruits like cherries, apricots, and olives, and honors its historical significance as the site where General San Martín prepared the Army of the Andes for Argentina’s independence. Each March, the region celebrates the grape harvest with the Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia, a colorful festival featuring parades, wine tastings, and cultural performances that draws visitors from around the globe.
