Moravec is a small village and municipality in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic, known for its peaceful rural setting, forests, and numerous ponds scattered across the surrounding countryside.

The village was first mentioned in historical records in 1374 and has a long connection to local agricultural and noble traditions. One of its most notable landmarks is Moravec Castle, a late Renaissance château built on the site of an earlier fortress, accompanied by a historic park and the Church of the Finding and Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

The castle has been restored and remains an important part of the village’s heritage. Despite having only around 700 residents, Moravec offers a charming atmosphere with scenic landscapes that attract walkers, cyclists, and nature lovers. The surrounding area is especially valued for its tranquil environment, ponds, and opportunities for outdoor recreation throughout the year.
