Nalžovy Castle, located in Nalžovské Hory in Czechia, was originally built as a Renaissance fortress between 1618 and 1620 on the site of an even older fortress documented from 1380.

It underwent Baroque modifications in the mid-18th century. The castle is part of a larger estate that was owned by the Taaffe family from 1769, who also created a picturesque area called Prašivice Forest nearby with artificial ruins and rock formations shaped like animals, inspired by their Irish ancestry and serving as a form of local relief during times of hardship.

The estate has a rich history connected to regional mining towns, which were once prosperous due to silver mining, although mining activities declined by the late 17th century. The castle complex today is recognized as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic and stands as a symbol of the area's noble heritage and historic landscape.
