Năvodari
Romania, Romania
Năvodari is a town of about 34,400 residents in Constanța County in Romania's Northern Dobruja region, located at 44°19′N 28°37′E on the Black Sea coast north of Mamaia beach amid flat coastal plains and Lake Tașaul.
First recorded in 1421 as Kara Koyun or Carachioi under Turkish influence, it grew rapidly during communist industrialization from the 1950s with factories like the superphosphate plant and Petromidia Refinery, Romania's largest oil processor, though pollution has since been mitigated.
Today it balances industry with tourism through vacation spots, sports facilities, a children's town, and the country's biggest summer camp turned seaside resort, offering affordable Black Sea access without overwhelming crowds.
