Neuberg Castle

Neuberg Castle, located in Podhradí near Cheb in the Czech Republic, was built in the early 13th century by the noble Neuberg family and first mentioned in 1288. It played a strategic role in the region and changed ownership multiple times, including being held by the Lords of Plauen and later the Zedtwitz family.
The castle was damaged by forces under Charles IV and severely after a fire in 1610, leading to its abandonment. Today, only the 22-meter-high round tower and ruins remain, offering a glimpse into its medieval past and historical importance in the Aš region.
