New Castle in Prague, commonly known as Prague Castle, is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was likely founded around the year 880 and has served historically as the seat of the kings of Bohemia and now as the official residence of the president of the Czech Republic.

The vast complex covers nearly 70,000 square meters and includes a mix of palaces, churches, fortifications, gardens, and courtyards showcasing architectural styles from Romanesque to Gothic to Renaissance. Among its most famous features is St. Vitus Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece started in the 14th century but completed only in the 20th century. Other notable parts include the Old and New Royal Palaces, the medieval St. George's Basilica, and the charming Golden Lane where writer Franz Kafka once lived.

The castle complex overlooks the historic center of Prague and offers stunning views of the city's spires and the Vltava River, making it a major cultural and historical landmark visited by millions each year.
