Nové Město na Moravě is a historic town in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic, founded in the 13th century during the colonization of the Bohemian-Moravian frontier.

It was originally called Nova Civitas, meaning "New Town." The town flourished particularly in the 16th century under the rule of the Pernštejn family, who granted it privileges such as annual fairs and trade guilds.

Today, Nové Město na Moravě is well known as a major center for winter sports, especially cross-country skiing and biathlon, hosting international competitions including the Biathlon World Cup and the Mountain Bike World Cup.

The town has a preserved historic center with cultural landmarks like the Church of St. Cunigunde and the Horácké Museum, which features exhibitions on folk culture and skiing traditions. It remains an important cultural, sports, and tourism destination in the Czech Highlands.
