Nový Hrádek is a small market town in the Náchod District of the Hradec Králové Region in the Czech Republic, close to the Polish border. It lies in the Orlické Foothills with a history dating back to at least 1362, when it was first mentioned in written records.

The town was allowed to hold markets from 1736 and developed around a castle that played a role in regional defense and local governance. The castle, now a ruin, was built in the 14th century and saw multiple owners, reconstructions, and damage during conflicts such as the Thirty Years' War and the Swedish invasions.

Over time, the castle lost its military importance and fell into disrepair, but it has become an important cultural and historical monument today, integrated into the protected landscape of the Podyjí National Park. The town itself has a population of around 800 and features notable landmarks such as the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, designed by Jan Santini Aichel.

Nový Hrádek is a peaceful place with rich medieval heritage and natural surroundings that attract both history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
