O'Brien's Castle, also known as Furmina Castle, is a ruined medieval tower house located on Inisheer (Inis Oírr), the smallest of the Aran Islands in County Galway, Ireland. Built around the early 15th century by a branch of the O'Brien clan, the castle stands on one of the island's highest points and was constructed within the site of an even older ringfort known as Dún Formna. Although partially destroyed during historical conflicts, including Cromwell's campaign in Ireland in 1652, the castle remains one of Inisheer's most recognizable landmarks and is protected as a National Monument. Visitors are drawn to the site for its dramatic stone ruins and spectacular panoramic views over Galway Bay, the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, and the surrounding Aran Islands.
