Olomouc Castle is one of the most important historic castle complexes in the Czech Republic, located on Wenceslas Hill in the city of Olomouc.

Built in the mid-11th century by the Přemyslid dynasty, it served as a princely residence, a military stronghold, and later an important seat of the Moravian bishops and archbishops. The castle played a significant role in Czech history and is best known as the place where King Wenceslas III, the last ruler of the Přemyslid dynasty, was assassinated in 1306.

Over the centuries, the complex was rebuilt and expanded in Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, and Neo-Gothic styles. Today, the castle complex includes St. Wenceslas Cathedral, the Archdiocesan Museum, and remains of the original medieval fortifications. Protected as a National Cultural Monument, it is a major historical and cultural landmark that showcases more than a thousand years of Moravian and Czech history.
