Opařany is a historic village and municipality in the South Bohemian Region, located west of Tábor.

First mentioned in written records in 1268, it has a long history connected to royal ownership, the town of Tábor, the Jesuit order, and later the noble Paar family. The village is best known for its Baroque château and the Church of Saint Francis Xavier, both built by the Jesuits in the 18th century.
