Opočno Castle in Czechia originated from a fortified settlement first mentioned in 1068 and later developed into a Gothic castle in the 14th century.

The castle was conquered by Hussites in 1425 and underwent multiple reconstructions. The Trčka family bought it in 1495 and rebuilt it in Renaissance style during the mid-16th century, adding notable arcades inspired by Italian architecture as well as transforming the chapel into the Church of the Holy Trinity for their family burials.

In the late 17th century, after a fire, Baroque renovations were carried out by the Colloredo family, who owned the castle for over three centuries. The castle today stands as one of the most distinguished Renaissance residences in East Bohemia, featuring a blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architectural elements with richly decorated interiors and a historic garden.
