Peñafiel Castle is a striking elongated medieval fortress perched on a narrow sandstone ridge above the town of Peñafiel in Valladolid province, Castilla y León, Spain, resembling a ship from above with its 210-meter length and 35-meter width.

Originating in the 10th century as a frontier outpost against Arab forces and rebuilt after Sancho García's 1013 conquest—earning its name "Peña Fiel" for loyalty to Castile—it features robust 13th-14th century walls, circular towers, and a massive 15th-century central keep built by nobles like Juan Manuel and Pedro Girón of the Calatrava Order.

Hosting events like the birth of Charles, Prince of Viana, and now restored as a museum of regional wines from Ribera del Duero and beyond, it offers panoramic Duero River views as a declared national monument.
