Petrohrad Castle, located in the Louny District of the Czech Republic, was founded in the mid-14th century, first mentioned in 1356.
It was strategically built to guard an important trade route from Prague toward the west. The castle remained mostly unchanged through the 16th century and functioned as a key defensive stronghold in the region.
Although now in ruins, it is an important medieval historical site reflecting the region’s feudal past and the ongoing significance of trade and defense in medieval Bohemia.
