Playa de Bajo de Guía
Spain, Spain
Playa de Bajo de Guía is a wide, gently sloping sandy beach in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Cádiz, located right at the mouth of the Guadalquivir River where it meets the Atlantic Ocean, with views across to Doñana National Park.
Its fine golden sand, moderate waters, and steady sea breeze make it popular for sailing and other wind sports, while the seafront promenade is lined with seafood restaurants and bars, and the shore is also used for traditional events like the Rocío pilgrimage embarkation and the famous Sanlúcar horse races, giving the beach a lively, local atmosphere more suited to strolling, sunsets, and dining than to pure bathing.
