Poděhusy Castle is the site of a medieval castle ruin located near the village of Podeřiště in the municipality of Malovice, South Bohemia.
The castle was associated with the powerful Rožmberk family and is first connected to historical records from the 13th century, with the fortress itself documented by the late 14th century. In 1421, during the Hussite Wars, the castle was captured and burned by forces led by Jan Žižka. It was never rebuilt and gradually fell into ruin.
By the late 15th century it was already described as abandoned. Today, only earthworks and defensive ditches remain. The site is protected as a cultural monument and can be visited freely, offering a glimpse into South Bohemia’s medieval past amid a peaceful natural setting.
