Proseč-Obořiště is a small village and administrative part of Nová Cerekev in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic.
First mentioned in historical records in 1376, it has a long rural history and today is home to around 185 residents, surrounded by the rolling countryside typical of the region. The village is best known for its former Baroque château, which evolved from an earlier medieval fortress and is now used as a retirement home.
Near the château are the Chapel of Saint Roch and a historic park containing “Havlíček’s Oak,” a centuries-old tree associated with the Czech writer Karel Havlíček Borovský. With its historic buildings, quiet atmosphere, and natural surroundings, Proseč-Obořiště offers a glimpse into traditional Czech village life and the cultural heritage of the Vysočina countryside.
