Průhonice Chateau in Czechia began as a Gothic fortress in the 14th century and was transformed over time through Renaissance, Classicist, and Neo-Renaissance architectural styles.

By the 19th century, under the ownership of Count Jan Nepomuk Nostitz-Rieneck and later Arnošt Emanuel Silva-Tarouca, it was extensively reconstructed into a grand Neo-Renaissance residence. Architect Jiří Stibral led a major renovation from 1889 to 1893, reshaping the chateau with a horseshoe-shaped ground plan, adding decorative details, and opening the southern wing to a terrace overlooking the pond and landscaped park.

The chateau combines historical architecture with rich ornamentation, including sgraffiti and a prominent clock turret, and is notably part of the Průhonice Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its impressive garden design. The chateau also serves modern functions such as hosting conferences in carefully preserved interiors that retain some original Baroque elements. Its blend of historical grandeur and natural beauty makes it a key cultural monument in the Czech Republic.
