Puerto Pirámides
Argentina, Argentina
Puerto Pirámides is a very small coastal village on Argentina’s Valdés Peninsula in Chubut Province, sitting on a sheltered bay of Golfo Nuevo and known mainly as a world‑class whale‑watching base. It is the only permanent town inside the Valdés Peninsula, a UNESCO‑listed natural World Heritage area, and its name comes from the distinctive pyramid‑shaped cliffs that rise along the shoreline. The village has a relaxed, bohemian feel, with a fine‑sand beach, a semi‑desert landscape, and boat tours from May to December that take visitors out to see southern right whales, sea lions, and other marine wildlife at close range.
