Ramat Hanadiv
Zikhron Ya'akov, Israel, Israel
Ramat HaNadiv (Heights of the Benefactor) is a beautiful nature park and memorial garden located at the southern end of Mount Carmel in northern Israel, situated between Zikhron Ya'akov to the north and Binyamina to the south.
The park covers 4.5 kilometers (3 miles) and spans over 1,000 acres, serving as a living memorial dedicated to Baron Edmond de Rothschild, a significant figure in establishing modern-day Israel who greatly contributed to the area's development. At the heart of the 17-acre manicured Memorial Gardens lies the Crypt housing Baron Edmond and Baroness Adelaide de Rothschild, whose remains were reinterred there in 1954 after being brought to Israel.
Surrounding the crypt are exquisite themed gardens including the Rose Garden, Iris Garden, Palm Garden, Fragrance Garden, and Cascade Garden, each offering unique beauty and tranquility for visitors. The park features diverse plant species, scenic walking paths through lush landscapes, nature trails, and archaeological ruins including a Roman-era bathhouse and Neolithic tombs, making it perfect for nature walks and cultural exploration. As the southernmost point of the Carmel mountain range, Ramat HaNadiv offers stunning views toward the coastal plain and the Mediterranean Sea.
