Rožďalovice is a historic town in the Czech Republic located roughly 18 km northeast of Nymburk, with a history dating back to the Younger Stone Age.
The town was officially promoted around 1340 by King John of Bohemia. Rožďalovice flourished under the rule of prominent noble families including the Křinecký of Ronov family from the late 15th century to 1622, followed by the Waldstein family until 1760, and later the Lobkowicz family from 1815 to 1930. Over centuries, it developed a rich cultural heritage, marked by historical architecture and noble estates that reflect the region’s complex social and political history.
The town is also notable as the birthplace of Václav Rožďalovský, a calixtin theologian who studied at Prague University in the early 16th century.
