Rožmberk Castle, located near Rožmberk nad Vltavou in South Bohemia, Czech Republic, is one of the oldest and most significant castles in Bohemia.

It was founded in the 13th century by members of the Vítkovci family, ancestors of the influential Rožmberk (Rosenberg) aristocratic family. The castle originally consisted of two parts, the Upper and Lower Castle, with only the stone tower Jakobínka surviving from the Upper Castle after a fire in 1522.

Over the centuries, the castle underwent Renaissance and 19th-century Neo-Gothic renovations by later owners, including the Buquoy family. Today, the castle operates as a museum displaying richly furnished interiors, valuable collections of paintings, weapons, furniture, and porcelain, including the famous portrait of Perchta of Rožmberk, known as the White Lady.

The castle sits majestically on a promontory surrounded on three sides by the Vltava River and offers panoramic views of the scenic South Bohemian countryside, attracting many visitors interested in history, architecture, and legends.
