Škrle Castle

Škrle Castle, located in the village of Bílence in Czechia, was built in 1750 as a Baroque summer residence by the abbot of Osek, Březina.
The castle was designed by architect Jakub Schwarz and is protected as a cultural monument. Historically, it was situated near the Chomutovka Stream and evolved from a stronghold recorded in 1621, which was rebuilt into the Baroque chateau in the 18th century. Over time, Škrle became an autonomous municipality and has historical significance connected to the Cistercian order.
The site includes remnants of its earlier fortress phase and reflects the rich architectural transitions from medieval fortifications to Baroque residential styles.
