Soko Grad is a medieval fortress located about 2 km southeast of Sokobanja, a spa town in eastern Serbia's Zaječar district, overlooking the scenic Moravica River canyon from an inaccessible rocky hilltop. First mentioned in the early 15th century in the biography of Serbian ruler Stefan Lazarević, its origins may trace back to the 6th century as a Roman-era or early Byzantine fortification, later serving as a key defensive site through Ottoman and Serbian medieval history. Today, the ruins attract visitors for hiking, cultural events like summer artist workshops, and views of the surrounding landscape, though it has no direct connection to North Macedonia beyond regional Balkan historical ties.
