Sparreholm Castle
Sweden, Sweden
Sparreholm Castle, located by Lake Båven in Flen Municipality, Södermanland, Sweden, traces its origins to a 17th-century manor built by Göran Bengtsson Sparre on family land held since the 1580s.
The current structure took shape in 1763 under Johan Vilhelm Sprengporten, with later Empire-style renovations in the 1820s and a major 1890s rebuild by Emil Dickson following Johan August Westerberg's designs, creating a grand late 19th-century manor amid oak forests.
Acquired by the Karinen family in 1996, the estate now houses museums showcasing over 60 vintage cars, jukeboxes, phonographs, bicycles, and carriages, alongside a café, conference facilities, and equestrian center open to visitors.
