Stará Ves nad Ondřejnicí is a village located near Ostrava in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic, with a population of around 3,000 people.

The first written mention of the village dates back to 1267, when it was referred to as Bruneswerde, named after Bishop Bruno of Schauenburg. Historically, the Syrakovský of Pěrkov family played a significant role in the village, building a castle and church in the 16th century. The village's development was disrupted during the Thirty Years' War when it was looted by the Swedish army in 1643. The Prusinovský family owned the village for nearly 300 years following the war.

The main sights include a Renaissance castle built in the mid-16th century, notable for its square floor plan, inner courtyard with arcades, and a tower decorated with figurative sgraffiti, as well as the Church of Saint John the Baptist constructed in the late 16th century along with a Baroque rectory nearby. The village lies where the Ondřejnice and Oder rivers flow and borders the Poodří Protected Landscape Area, offering a mix of natural beauty and historical significance.
