Státní zámek Vimperk is a historic castle in the town of Vimperk in South Bohemia, Czechia, that began as a guard fortress in the 13th century to protect the important trade route known as the Golden Path from Bavaria into Bohemia.
Over time, it was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau, later damaged by fire in the 19th century, and today it is a cultural monument and a place where visitors can see both restored rooms and parts still under restoration.
