The Stobi Archaeological Site, located near Gradsko in the Vardar Region of North Macedonia, is one of the country’s most important ancient cities.

Situated at the confluence of the Crna River and the Vardar River, it developed from a Paeonian settlement into a major city under Macedonian and Roman rule and later became the capital of the Roman province of Macedonia Salutaris. The site contains impressive remains of a Roman theater, basilicas, baths, streets, palaces, and beautifully preserved mosaics that reflect its long history and prosperity.

During the Late Roman and Early Christian periods, Stobi was an important religious and cultural center, with several churches and richly decorated buildings.
