Talarn Castle remains crown the highest eastern point of the medieval walled village of Talarn in Pallars Jussà, Lleida province, Catalonia, Spain, originating as an 11th-century fortress that anchored a strategic hilltop settlement from Celtic times through the Reconquista.

Key to Pallars county politics, it changed hands among counts, castellans like Ginaman Hug, and families such as Mur and Vilamur, enduring sieges by mercenaries in 1476 and Huguenots in 1562 before serving administrative roles until Tremp eclipsed it in 1834.

Today, surviving elements include the 11th-century Prison Tower (2.7m diameter, 6m high with 180cm-thick walls), adjacent structures possibly towers or an early church, and traces of enclosing walls integrated into modern houses, all protected within the town's historic core.
