The "Danube Delta" Museum of Ecotourism (Centrul Muzeal Eco-Turistic Delta Dunării) is a cultural institution with a museum and public aquarium located on Strada 14 Noiembrie 1, near the town's embankment and Danube River bank in Tulcea, Tulcea County, Romania, part of the cultural center of Tulcea town together with two other museums and the Muslim mosque. Officially inaugurated on April 14, 2009 and opened for the public on February 25, 2009, the center was developed through the joint efforts of the Tulcea County Council and the Eco-Museum Research Institute Tulcea (ICEM Tulcea) within the Neighbourhood Programme Romania-Ukraine (PHARE CBC 2004-2006), and represents the new space where the old Danube Delta Nature Sciences Museum (first established in 1964 within ICEM Tulcea) operates since 2009. The museum features a permanent exhibition showing elements specific to the natural patrimony of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, including accurate representations of natural habitats with real stuffed animals displaying 46 plant species, 3 reptile species, 44 bird species, and 12 mammal species from the upper levels, plus exhibitions on sustainable fishing, a butterfly collection, and interactive displays.
