Torre de Bujaco
Cáceres, Spain, Spain
Torre de Bujaco is a prominent 12th-century Almohad tower in Cáceres, Spain, built on Roman foundations as part of the city's defensive walls during Muslim rule.
Named after Caliph Abu Ya'qub, who conquered Cáceres in 1173 following a six-month siege against the Knights of Santiago, it served as a key bastion until the Christian reconquest in 1229. Standing about 25 meters tall with a square base, parapets, and later Renaissance additions, it functioned as a clock tower from the 16th to 18th centuries and now houses a visitor center on Cáceres' history, offering panoramic views from its rooftop.
