Torre de Miraz
Spain, Spain
Torre de Miraz is a medieval tower from the 14th century located in Miraz, Xermade municipality, Lugo province, Galicia, northwestern Spain, built by the powerful Saavedra family as part of an ancient fortress.
The well-preserved rectangular granite structure stands 12 meters tall with two floors, small arched windows, machicolations, a crenellated terrace with gargoyles, and an embedded heraldic stone displaying emblems of the Saavedra, Ulloa, Taboada, and Ribadeneira lineages.
Adjoined by an 18th-century austere pazo manor house within a walled L-shaped complex, it passed through noble descendants and remains privately owned in good condition, used partly as a residence while housing family archives.
